Osteopathic Manual Practice (OMP) is a form of healthcare that focuses on treating the body as a whole, rather than just addressing specific symptoms or ailments. In OMP, practitioners use their hands to treat and prevent illness or injury. This approach is based on the principle that the body’s structure and function are deeply interconnected and that proper alignment and balance of the body's musculoskeletal system are essential for good health and functioning of all the body's structures.

During a typical OMP session, a practitioner will use techniques such as stretching, gentle pressure, and resistance to help relieve pain, improve mobility, and promote overall wellness. These techniques are designed to enhance the body's natural ability to heal itself and can be beneficial for various conditions, including muscle pain, headaches, joint pain, circulation, recovery, injury prevention, cardiorespiratory, gynecological, urological, and/or digestive issues.

Patients often find OMP treatments to be gentle and non-invasive. Each patient's experience with OMP can vary, and newcomers should expect extensive evaluation, with a focused, hands-on, manual treatment. This treatment will focus on specific areas of the body that are found to be most disruptive to overall health and function.  Treatment frequency is less than other paramedical practices, and while effort is made to contain the treatment in the allotted time, due to the nature of the practice, flexibility is appreciated.
